A Matter of Balance

A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns about Falls
Many seniors experience fear of falling and restrict their activities. A Matter of Balance emphasizes practical strategies to reduce this fear and increase physical activity levels.  A Matter of Balance includes eight two-hour sessions for a small group led by a trained facilitator. This program was developed at the Roybal Center at Boston University and has been nationally recognized.

Who Should Attend A Matter of Balance?
·        Anyone concerned about falls
·        Anyone interested in improving balance, flexibility and strength
·        Anyone who has fallen in the past
·        Anyone who has restricted activities because of falling concerns

Other fall prevention efforts offered by the Center include home risk assessments and home modifications to reduce the risk of falls.
