Dr. Lynn VanderWielen
Lynn VanderWielen, PhD, MPH is the Director of Research and Evaluation at The Center for African American Health. Trained in health services research and public health, Dr. VanderWielen focuses on research and evaluation efforts that aim to achieve health equity and social justice in traditionally underserved communities. Dr. VanderWielen currently is engaged in several projects including BeHeardMileHigh, the first longitudinal community panel lead by a community-based organization in the United States. These efforts collect the wisdom, experience, and perspectives of community members often underrepresented in data to improve equity in practice, programming, and policy.
Dr. VanderWielen received her PhD from Virginia Commonwealth University’s Department of Health Administration, and her MPH from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She maintains her volunteer faculty appointment at The University of Colorado in the School of Medicine and the School of Public Health.
