Biography:Grant Jones’ leadership in the philanthropic and nonprofit sectors spans 25 years. His career includes directing two major nonprofit organizations, a12-year tenure with a private foundation, and national consulting on strengthening neighborhoods and expanding the role of faith-based groups to build strong and healthy communities. Jones is founder and executive director of the Center for African-American Health, Metro Denver’s central resource for promoting the health and well being of the African American community. In 1999, he was chosen as one of only 10 individuals in the nation for a year-long Children and Family Fellowship awarded by the Annie E. Casey Foundation. He also has been the recipient of a number of prestigious awards, including the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Humanitarian Award, he received the highest honor of Regis University, Civis Princeps (First Citizen) Award and the 2006 Denver Business Journal Champion in Health Award. He is a 1987 graduate of Leadership Denver. Grant serves on the boards of the Colorado Health Foundation and LiveWell Colorado, as well as serving on the Metro Denver Health and Wellness Commission, the Colorado Blue Ribbon Commission for Health Care Reform, the Colorado Centennial Care Choice Panel, the Denver Census Complete Count Committee, and the University of Colorado Denver's Partnership of Academicians and Communities for Translation (PACT) Council. |
