CLASSES/WORKSHOPS
Free Mammograms and breast health workshops
The Center for African American Health, through a grant from the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation, is offering free mammograms to African Americans that are uninsured or under insured. The Center also offers a comprehensive, no cost breast health workshop lead by our Breast Health Team. This educational workshop can be held at your church or organization. To take advantage of either opportunity, you are encouraged to contact Angel Paige, Breast Health Outreach Coordinator, at 303-355-3423 ext. 117.
Prostate Cancer Screening
Did you know that African American men account for 20 percent of all new prostate cancer cases and that we can have prostate cancer as early as 35 years old? Prostate cancer is more serious for Black men than all other groups across Colorado as well as the United States. As a result, having an annual prostate screening is very important.
Our screenings will be held every February at our Annual Health Fair and every September during Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. For more information, please contact Ralph Kennedy at 303-355-3423 extension 109.
